Research associated with growing and culturing disease causing organisms that could be used for biological warfare should be banned.

It is too risky to be doing physical research on diseases causing organisms. The organisms have been around for many ages and sometimes centuries and even in this day in age with all of the advancements in modern technology they have not found or been successful in creating a cure for them. So if it ever was released into the world it could become a pandemic of mass devastation and there would be no cure or anything to stop it.

I agree and disagree with you Kalin. If these disease causing organisms are being grown with intentions of being used for biological warfare, then thats worthy of being banned. But, if these are being used to research for possible cures then thats totally acceptable. But yes if this was released into the world it could be very devistating to mankind.

Devon, how do you suppose this be regulated? I mean who should decide when and for what the experimenting should be on? It seems like it could be dangerous proactive to limit this experimentation to one or the other, and who would regulate it?

I agree with Devon on this issue because if we didn't do any researching on diseases and organsims that are causing harm to us then we would never find any cures. However I do believe that their is no real way to "ban" people from using it as biological warfare. How would you be able to control something can be hidden so easily? Its hard to say what I would do because the danger it could cause is terrifying. But not havig some sort of research done is also unthinkable. This is a difficult topic.

I agree with Sam, there is no real way to ban people from using biological warfare. I personally think if possible it should be banned to an extent. If anyone chooses to use it to inflict harm than if deffinetly should be banned. But like Devon says if its being used to research possible cures than it is acceptable under the circumstances it is handed by the right people and is contained taking all precautions that it won't be realeased to mankind and inflict harm. This is a very controversial subject concidering it can be used for very good reasons but also be deadly.

I found this interesting article about bioterrorism and the different biological warefare people have tried on eachother to inflict harm.
